About BCAF
Introduction
The British Community Assistance Fund (also known as BCAF) is a not for profit organisation which was established pursuant to a Declaration of Trust made on June 15th 1986. Its purpose is the relief of poverty, suffering and distress of persons who (i) are in need; (ii) are British citizens as defined in the British Nationality Act 1981; and (iii) reside in the Emirate of Dubai or any of the Northern Emirates of the United Arab Emirates, as well as their dependents.
Pursuant to a resolution dated 16 May 2011, and with the consent of the Dubai Chamber, it was agreed that BCAF would operate as a sub-committee of the British Business Group, Dubai & Northern Emirates
The affairs of BCAF are administered by a Board of Governors consisting of a Chairman; Deputy Chairman and Treasurer and such other positions as the Board may determine from time to time.
The financial year of BCAF runs from 1 January to the following 31 December and the BCAF's accounts are audited each year.
